Dear Edgeboro Friends & Family,

It feels like a little while since I have written anything for the Envoy (our newsletter). Technology is great, but it can be a real hindrance when it stops working. I’m sure many of you have experienced technical difficulties at home with your phones or computers. The church is no exception!

As some of you might know, after seven years of faithful service, the computer in the church office stopped working and needed to be replaced. Since then, we have purchased a brand-new computer which should serve us well for quite some time. However, with a new computer comes the work of transferring all of the files and reconfiguring all of the settings, which takes time. This caused us to skip a newsletter issue and delayed the production of the 2018 church directory (coming soon!). The good news is now we are starting to get back on track.

In this issue, you will see a lot of information of different things happening at the church. Make sure you find the Holy Week worship schedule, details about the upcoming Mystery Dinner Theater in late April, announcements of events taking place at our ministry partners, Northeast Ministry and Esperanza for Bethlehem, a note about the new program we use for the church calendar, and much more.

To close, I wanted to send us off with a blessing. I am one who looks ahead in the Moravian Daily Text frequently. For those that try not to, I will warn you now that I am about to do it again. The text chosen (at random, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, well over a year in advance) for Easter Sunday, April 1st is a part of a blessing given from Moses to the Israelites. It reads, “If you obey the Lord your God; Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field.” (Deuteronomy 28: 2-23).

So if you are in Bethlehem, Nazareth, Allentown, or the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, or wherever you are, may the presence of our Risen Lord—the one who understands our doubt, pain, and fear and shows us that faith, love, and hope springs eternal—be with you to bless you in this season of Easter.

Loving a Risen Lord with you,

Pastor Dan
